Women's Tennis Defeats Misericordia for 6th Straight Win

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University won their sixth consecutive women's tennis match with a 6-3 victory over visiting Misericordia University Tuesday afternoon. The Pacers improve to 9-2 on the year while the Cougars fall to 0-3.

Marywood won two and three doubles by scores of 8-0 and lost at one doubles 8-1 to take a 2-1 lead into singles action.  Avery McCall and Danielle Ogonowski won in the second flight while Melanie Kobela partnered with Nicole Sinclair for a three-doubles win.

In singles action, Marywood got wins at three though six singles to seal the win.  McCall defeated Erika Slowicki 6-0, 6-1 at three singles while Kristen Lambert beat Courtney Portaro 6-1, 6-0 at four singles.  Kobela won 6-2, 6-0 at number five while Sinclair blanked Hannah Corbaccio 6-0, 6-0 at six singles.

Marywood travels to Langhorne to take on Cairn University Saturday. With a win the Pacers can clinch a berth in the Colonial Athletic Conference semifinals.
