Marywood Survives Five-Set Match at Goucher

Towson, Md. – The Marywood University women's volleyball team returned to the win column with a five-set victory over Goucher College Saturday in Towson, Md. Marywood beat Hood 3-1 in the nightcap but scores and statistics from that match were not yet available.

The Pacers won by scores of 25-27, 25-16, 21-25, 25-19, 15-9. It is the Pacers' first five-set victory since beating DeSales University on Oct. 25, 2014.

Marywood was led offensively by Peri Sheerin and Mallorie Deschaine with 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Gabby Santos supplied nine kills.


Danielle DeIulio provided the team with 30 assists. Mikayla Attwood stopped the Gophers with five blocks.

Shayna Finn totaled 21 digs. Jordan Vossler garnered 12 digs. Santos had a season-high 11 digs.

The Gophers' Sarah Weeden totaled a double-double with game high 21 kills and 16 digs. Olivia Rhodes tabbed 37 assists.

The Pacers netted nine blocks to the Gophers' one. Marywood shot .180 for the game to the Gophers' .060 attack percentage.

In the fifth set, Marywood scored five straight points off of Deschaine serves.
