Wilkes-Barre, Pa. - Marywood University missed a game-tying free throw attempt with 1.5 seconds left and King's College nailed two from the charity stripe at the other end to seal a 76-73 win over the Pacers Sunday afternoon at Wilkes University's Marts Center.  The Pacers drop to 0-5 on the season while King's moved to 4-2 with the Cross County Challenge win.

Connor Shroyer and James Curley each had 20 to tie for a game-high point output while Jeremy Ringland added 13 for Marywood.  King's placed four players in double digits in the win.

Down five with 23 seconds left to play, Marywood forced a King's turnover and Ringland nailed a three at the other end of the court to make it 74-72 in favor of the Monarchs.

After Marywood fouled, King's would miss both attempts on the free throw line.  Marywood's Curley would get fouled at the other end of the court and was sent to the line with 1.5 seconds left and a chance to force overtime.  Curley's first freebie was good, but his second bounced off the front and back of the rim before being grabbed by a King's player for a defensive rebound.  King's would nail both attempts at the other end of the floor before a desperation pass from Marywood with 0.3 left on the clock went out of bounds.

King's shot 50% from the field for the game and hit 40.7% of their three point attempts.  Marywood nailed 54.5% of their trey's (12 of  22) but connected on just 37.5% of their field goal attempts for the game (12 of 32).

Marywood is back on the court Wednesday night when they host Centenary College (N.J). in CSAC action. Tip-off is set for approximately 8:00 pm after the Marywood women play the Cyclones at 6:00 pm.
