Scranton, Pa. - Visiting Centenary University grabbed an early 12 point lead and kept Marywood at bay the rest of the way as the Cyclones earned a 77-63 CSAC win over the Pacers in men's basketball action Wednesday evening at the Insalaco Arena.  The Cyclones move to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the league while Marywood remains winless at 0-6 (0-2).

Centenary exploded out of the gates for a 19-7 lead and eventually went up by as many as 16 in the first half (31-15) before Marywood's James Curley hit the Pacers first three of the game at the buzzer to cut the visitor's lead to 13 (44-31) at the break.

Unfortunately for Marywood, Curley's three would be one of just two the Pacers hit for the game, as the Cyclones limited them to 2 of 15 shooting from long range.  The Cyclones also converted 14 Marywood first half turnovers into 17 points.

The Pacers would cut the Cyclone lead to eight (48-40) by outscoring Centenary 9-4 in the opening five minutes of the second half, and had it at nine (56-47) with nine to go, but Centenary used a 6-0 run to extend their lead back to a comfortable margin.

A Jeremy Ringland four point play made it 63-53 with 6:48 to go a nifty cut and drive from Zach Tinkham got Marywood to within eight (65-67) with 5:15 to play, but a step-back three from Paul Jones put the Cyclones up 70-57 and the visitors would keep a double-digit lead from there.

Centenary placed four players in double figures led by a game-high 24 point night from Rashaan Spencer.  Dexter Shy led Marywood with 15, and Ringland added 11.  Spencer was one board shy of a double-double.

Marywood will host Cabrini University Saturday at 2:00 pm.
