With the win, Marywood (11-5-2) claims the CSAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Tournament. Centenary closed its season at 11-9.

Marywood previously won the CSAC title in 2008 and were runner-ups in 2009. Centenary claimed its third runner-up plaque (2007, 2014) to go along with one title (2010).

The Cyclones went ahead early, continuing their strong offensive play as of late. Over 17 minutes into the game, Amanda Benoit beat a defender and found Chloe Christopher at the near post. Christopher one-timed it home to put the guests up 1-0.

The rest of the first half was tightly and physically contested with Marywood controlling much of the play. Despite out-shooting the Cyclones by a 8-2 margin, Marywood still trailed with less than a minute remaining. As has been the case all year, Marywood had someone other than the leading scorers step up to tie the game.  Awarded a direct kick from 35 yards out, McKenzie Dailey challenged the Centenary keeper, and the ball slipped though for the equalizer with just 35 seconds left on the clock until intermission.

Marywood came out strong in the second half, scoring a go-head goal under a minute into the frame. Megan Swiecicki won a long punt from goalkeeper Aly Moyer and controlled it along the top of the 18 before sending it to the far-left post to put Marywood ahead by a 2-1 score.

In the 83rd minute, Marywood received an important insurance goal as Aly Barlok punched home a Julie Youngman corner kick to give the Pacers a 3-1 lead.

That goal proved to be the difference maker, as Centenary would make it a 3-2 game in the 86th minute. Kara LaPolice tapped in a Emily Pizzuto after Pizzuto's direct kick was saved by Moyer.

For the game, Marywood outshot Centenary 16-13 but the Cyclones had five corners to Marywood's four. Moyer made five saves, and defender Elizabeth Carlson cleared a ball off the line for the Pacers to protect Marywood's 2-1 lead at the time.  Kaitlin Marold made six stops for Centenary.

Marywood will learn its NCAA Tournament destination Monday during the live selection show at 1:00 pm. The link to that website will be posted once it becomes available. The first round will take place Saturday, Nov. 12, followed by the second round on Sunday, Nov. 13.
