Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University drew The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) women's soccer team, ranked #5 in both the NSCAA and D3Soccer.com polls, for the first round of the 2016 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.  The Lions (16-1-1) received an at-large bid to the 2016 NCAA Women's Soccer Championships and will host the opening two rounds of the tournament this weekend.

TCNJ earned the top seed in their bracket after being upset by Rowan University (1-0) in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship match.  The Lions and Marywood will square off in the first round at 11 a.m. this Saturday, November 12. The Pacers posted an 11-5-2 overall record this season and received an automatic bid to the championships by capturing the Colonial States Athletic Conference title with a 3-2 victory over Centenary College.

In the second, first-round game, Virginia Wesleyan will take on Brandeis University at 1:30 p.m. Both teams received at-large bids by the selection committee. The Marlins dropped a 2-1 decision to Washington and Lee in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship game and finished the season with a 12-5-3 overall record. The Judges compiled a 13-3-2 season record. They compete in the University Athletic Association, which does not host a conference tournament.

TCNJ and Virginia Wesleyan squared in the 2016 season opener. The Lions registered a 3-0 victory in the match-up.  Marywood has never faced any of the other three schools in the bracket but is the only school in the bracket to win their Conference Championship as all others earned at-large bids.

Upon receiving the at-large bid, TCNJ has now appeared in 26 consecutive NCAA championship tournaments. This is Marywood's second appearance and first since 2008 where they traveled to Washington and Jefferson College for a first round matchup.  Marywood tied W&J 1-1 before falling in penalty kicks.

Ticket prices are $6 for general admission, $3 for Senior Citizens and Students and $2 for children ages 3-12.  Online links to follow the game for those who cannot make the trip to Ewing can be found at the links below.
