Scranton, PA - Marywood University remained atop the CSAC standings with a 68-57 win over Immaculata University Saturday afternoon in Scranton.  The Pacers, who got 15 points apiece from Natasha Hessling and Alexa Gerchman, improved to 11-1 in the league and remained tied with Gwynedd Mercy University, though the Pacers hold the tiebreaker.

Alexandra Evans was the third Pacer in double figures with 10 points on five of five shooting from the floor.  Evans also had six boards.

It looked like the Pacers had things well in hand as Marywood (14-7 overall) built a 34-22 lead at the break.  Marywood shot 43.3% from the field in the first half while limiting the Mighty Macs (5-16, 5-7 CSAC) to 32.3% shooting from the floor and 14.3% from three point range (1 of 7).

But the Mighty Macs made things interesting with a strong third quarter as they outscored the hosts 24-15 and trimmed their lead to just three (49-46) by the end of the period.

A Marywood 9-0 run to open the fourth provided the Pacers with some breathing room and Marywood went on to the 68-57 win.

Hessling was 7 of 13 from the field while Gerchman was 6 of 9. Hessling added a six rebounds while Gerchman dished out a team best six assists.

Immaculata was led by Tamyra Laws' game high 26 points and 17 boards.  Theresa Walsh added 16.

Marywood is back in action Wednesday when they travel to Hackettstown, NJ for a 7:00 pm CSAC tilt at Centenary College.
