Women's Basketball to Host Pink Game Saturday

Scranton, PA - The first-place Marywood University women's basketball team will host its annual Pink Game Saturday. The event, which features a basketball doubleheader, will raise funds for the Nadine Cenci Marchegiani Foundation.

The women's team will take on local rival Keystone Collegeat 1:00 pm in a rematch of last year's Colonial States Athletic Conference first round playoff game. It will befollowed by the men's tipoff against Rosemont College at approximately 3:00 pm.All proceeds and donations from both games will go directly to the foundation.The Pacers defeated the Giants back in December.

Marchegiani was an wonderful person and former Valley View School District teacher who passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She is the mother of current women's basketball book managerAlisha Marchegiani and former women's basketball player Amanda Marchegiani M'14.

The foundation is committed to helping the needs of individuals with serious illnesses within the local community; the local food banks; the Valley Community Library; and cancer research.

Over the past three years, Marywood women's basketballraised close to $3500 for the foundation.
