Scranton, PA - Marywood University gave up the first six goals of the game in an 18-5 loss at home to crosstown rival The University of Scranton Tuesday in women's lacrosse. 

Kylie Winton led the Pacers with a team-high two goals. Sam Bussinelli, Ashley Valway and Rachelle Woodhouse each scored for the Pacers. 

Lauren Smith stopped 17 saves in a losing effort. 

Scranton's Meghan Kerr scripted four goals and six assists for 10 points. She was joined in the box score with hat tricks from Elena Gallo and Christine Olert. Erin Allen also provided four points and four ground balls. 

The Royals (4-5) posted five goals within the first five minutes. Gallo scored 18 seconds into the game and followed it up with the team's second 2:17 later. After Allen made it a six-goal lead before the 21:00 mark, Marywood scored its first goals within 1:16 of each other. Woodhouse put on the Pacers' first of the game at 16:29. Shortly thereafter, Winton took a Katrina Kelly pass to goal to trim the deficit to 6-2. Kerr ended a nearly 10-minute Royals' scoring drought at 12:39. 

Bussinelli one-timed a Natalie Burke pass with her back facing the net at 2:48 for the Pacers' third goal of the half. Fiona Keelan posted one for Scranton with 16 seconds remaining to go into the break with a 9-3 lead.  

Scranton outshot Marywood by a 42-13 margin. The Royals nearly doubled the Pacers in ground balls (34-18) and draw controls (15-8). 

Marywood hopes to get back on the right track Saturday at 1:00 pm when it hosts Keystone College.
