Jersey City, NJ - Daniel Hull went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI but New Jersey City University used two big innings to get past the Pacers 15-6 in non-conference baseball action Thursday afternoon in New Jersey. Marywood fell to 4-9 with the loss while NJCU improved to 12-4.

Trailing 1-0 after one inning of play, Marywood responded to take a two-run lead in the top of the second when Hull ripped a two-run double to right center. The hosts responded with a grand-slam in the bottom half of the inning to reclaim a 6-2 lead.

Chase Jones got the Pacers back into the game in the third with a two-run single up the middle, and the Pacers later tied the game at 6-6 after RBI singles from Joseph Meehan and Hull.

Unfortunately for Marywood, New Jersey City University's pitching staff clamped down on the Marywood bats from that point on and did not allow another run.

The hosts would take a one-run lead in the bottom of the fourth and take control with a seven run eighth inning.

Casey Reed took the loss on the mound for Marywood after allowing seven runs on eight hits over three innings of work. Nick DeCandia was strong in four innings of relief, striking out six while allowing two runs on two hits.

Marywood returns to action Saturday when it hosts Summit University of Pennsylvania for a non-conference doubleheader beginning at noon in Scranton.
