Clermont, FL - Marywood University and New England College traded walk-off wins Tuesday in non-conference softball action as the Patriots earned a come-from-behind 4-3 win in the opener and the Pacers cruised to a 8-0 five-inning win in the nightcap.  Marywood moves to 2-2 on the year while NEC stands at 2-4.

The Pacers took an early lead off a Brooke Labs first inning triple to right that scored Sarah Recanati and went up 3-0 in the fourth on a bases loaded walk and RBI single from Stephanie Bagniewski.

The Patriots began their comeback in the fifth when Gabriella Marcheschi singled in two runs to make it 3-3.  In the bottom of the seventh, Marcheschi was at it again.  After a one out triple down the right field line, a walk and an intentional walk, Marcheschi singled down the left field line to bring home the game-winning run.

Labs, Bagniewski and Heather Schultz all went 2-for-3 for Marywood.  Katie Siano went five innings on the mound, striking out three and allowing three runs for a no-decision.  Alyssa Bavarro took the loss, allowing one earned run on two hits over 1.1 innings of work.

In the nightcap, Katelyn Grimes smacked a three-run homer, the second of her career, to put Marywood up 8-0 and end the game in five innings.

Kirstie Alvarez improved to 2-0 on the year after allowing just four hits over five innings of work for the complete game win.  Bagniewski went 2-for-3 again with a double and two RBI while Grimes finished the second game 2-for-3 at the plate with the three-run homer and two runs scored.

Marywood went up 1-0 on Bagniewski's RBI double that scored Labs. The Pacers then tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the second on RBIs from Schultz, Alexa Scala and Bagniewski.

Marywood will be off Wednesday before returning to the diamond Thursday to take on Wheaton College (Illinois) at 1:00 pm and Haverford College (Pa.) at 3:00 pm.
