Morrisville, NY – Marywood University was edged by an 8-7 score for the second-straight game Wednesday by 2015 Division III tournament participant Morrisville State. The Mustangs scored back-to-back goals in the final five minutes to come from behind for the victory.

The Mustangs' Logan Peters scored the game-winning goal from Eliud Evans with 1:53 remaining. Trailing by a 7-6 score, John Sherlock evened the contest with a shot from Brad Biggs with 4:19 left in the game.

Cody Bachman had a team-best two goals for the Pacers. Jake Drexl, Matt Casto and Rob Maini each finished with a goal and an assist.

Justin Einwechter scored his first career goals to complement his three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Morrisville State's John Sherlock produced three goals. Nick Geswaldo added two goals and an assists. Morrisville's keeper Chris Fiore stopped eight shots in a winning effort.
With 20 saves, Marywood's goalkeeping kept the Pacers despite the Mustangs more than doubling (47-23) in shots. Morrisville State won the ground ball game by a 32-20 margin. The Mustangs commanded the faceoff-x by taking 13 of 18. Marywood was proficient in clears with a 20 of 24 performance.

Morrisville dampened the mood in the first quarter by scoring the first three goals of the game. Marywood was 22 seconds from being shut out in the first quarter until Casto tacked on his fifth goal of the season from Scott Slater.

The Pacers matched its first quarter production in the second with Einwechter's tally being the only goal scored, and the Mustangs led 5-2 at the break.

Marywood faced its largest deficit of the game (6-2) at the start of the third before keeping the Mustangs scoreless for a 24-minute stretch. During that time frame, Marywood went on a five-goal run over two quarters. Bachman evened the score at 6-6 at the 7:56 mark of the fourth. Sixty-seven seconds later, Austin Maylor lifted the Pacers to its first lead of the game from a Casto feed.

Marywood (0-4) looks to get into the win column Saturday when it travels south to Washington, D.C. to face The Catholic University of America.
