Men's Tennis Moves to 2-0 in CSAC with 7-2 Win

Scranton, PA - Marywood University won two of three doubles matches and five of six singles matches as the Pacers (2-2, 2-0 CSAC) knocked off visiting Immaculata University 7-2 in men's tennis action Friday afternoon.

Ahmed AlOreif and Alec Bird earned an 8-1 win at #1 doubles.  Bird went on to a 6-0, 6-1 win in the top singles flight while AlOreif was a 6-2, 6-3 winner over Stephen Smith at #2 singles.

In #2 doubles, Brendan Brown and Dan Tintle picked up an 8-3 victory over Immaculata's John Binner and Smith.  Brown would also pick up a singles win at #4 (6-0, 6-1) over Binner while Tintle was a winner at #3 singles after a 6-1, 6-0 win over Dom Ramsden.

Immaculata (2-4, 1-1 CSAC) got a win at #3 doubles as Mark Hueber and Michael Griffin III defeated Zack Haney and Bryon Scholl 9-8 (7-0).

Scholl would get revenge in singles play at #5 with a 6-3, 6-3 win oer Hueber but Griffin III out-lasted Haney 6-4, 5-7, 10-6 at #6 to give the Mighty Macs their second point of the match.

Marywood will host Gywnedd Mercy University in a key CSAC showdown tomorrow at 1:00 pm.
