Scranton, PA – Visiting Cabrini College remained unbeaten in the league and atop the CSAC standings with a doubleheader sweep of Marywood Tuesday afternoon. The Cavaliers (11-10, 8-0) won game one 8-3 and game two 8-4.  Marywood dropped to 10-10 (7-3 CSAC) with the losses.

Coming into the game with seven wins in their last eight outings, Marywood got another strong performance at the plate from Kathleen Rossi in the opener as she went 2-for-3 with a pair of triples and also batted in a run.

Cabrini broke out of the gates early though, going up 1-0 in the first and then tacking on four runs on four hits and an error in the second to build a 5-0 lead.

The Pacers got two back in the bottom half of the second thanks to a RBI triple from Rossi that scored Mackie Goodwin and a sacrifice fly-out from Alexa Scala that plated Rossi, but could not score again until the sixth when Sarah Recanati singled in Rossi to make it a 7-3 game.

Amanda Bridgwood took the loss for the Pacers in the opener, allowing one earned run (five total) on five hits over 1.2 innings of work.  Kirstie Alvarez pitched the rest of the way, allowing three runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings.

In the nightcap, Marywood trailed 1-0 after two and a half innings but scored two in the bottom half of the third to take a 2-1 lead. That lead was short lived though as the Cavaliers answered with three runs in the third and went on for the 8-4 win.

Katie Siano struck out six but the Pacers allowed 18 Cabrini hits over her six innings of work in the loss. Alvarez pitched a scoreless seventh.

Brooke Labs, Stephanie Bagniewski, Recanati and Schultz all had two hits for the Pacers in the nightcap while Goodwin doubled for the Pacers.

Marywood will hope to regain momentum this weekend when the Pacers host Keystone College Friday (3:00 pm) and Cairn University Saturday (1:00  pm) in league twinbills.
