Scranton, PA - Marywood University picked up two important league wins as the Pacers swept Keystone College Friday afternoon in CSAC softball action. Marywood took the opener 5-2 and the nightcap 11-4.  The Pacers improve to 12-10 overall and 9-3 in the league while Keystone fell to 7-17 (2-8 CSAC) with the losses.

Kathleen Rossi and Kate O'Meara were both 4-for-6 with a double over both games with Rossi picking up three RBI and O'Meara one.  Brooke Labs also had three RBI as part of her .500 day (4 for 8) at the plate.

Keystone would take 1-0 first inning leads in both games.  In the opener, Marywood tied it up in the second on a RBI double from Rossi but would go back down 2-1 after three.  A RBI from Malory Porada tied the game again in the bottom of the fourth and then Marywood plated three in the fifth to take the win.

In that fifth inning, O'Meara would single home Sarah Recanati which proved to be the winning run.  Labs and O'Meara would each score unearned runs later in the inning.

In the 11-4 win, Keystone built a 4-1 lead after two but Marywood woke up in the third and plated 10 runs on seven hits and three errors to put the game away.

Kirstie Alvarez (7-2) picked up the win in the opener and the two-inning save in the nightcap while Katie Siano (3-2) got the win after throwing five innings in game two.  Alvarez allowed two earned runs in a complete-game effort in the opener.

Both teams celebrated their second annual "Pink Game" to raise money for cancer research and promote awareness.

Marywood will host Cairn University in a doubleheader Saturday. Game one gets underway at 1:00 pm.
