Scranton, PA -  Marywood University defeated Neumann University 8-1 in CSAC men's tennis action Tuesday to set up a showdown with Summit University of Pennsylvania Wednesday that will determine the number two seed in the Conference post-season tournament.  

Marywood improved to 5-6 overall and 5-1 in league play while the Knights fell to 3-5 overall and 3-3 in the league with the loss.

Marywood won two matches on the day by default with wins at #3 doubles and #6 singles.  At #1 doubles, Ahmed AlOreif and Alec Bird were 8-1 winners while Dan Tintle and Brendan Brown blanked Zac Lazzaro and Andrew Wilbraham 8-0 at #2.

Bird and Tintle both won 6-1, 6-1 at #1 and #2 singles, respectively, while Brown was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Jake Davidson at #3.

Bryon Scholl (6-1, 6-0) won over Wilbraham at #4 while Neumann's Jordan Collins earned the Knights their point on the day with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Zack Haney of Marywood.

Marywood will take on Summit University of Pennsylvania at Marywood Wednesday at 4:00 pm to determine the #2 seed in this weekend's CSAC Championship tournament.  Both the Pacers and Defenders are 5-1 in league play after suffering losses to top seed Gwynedd Mercy.  The match will simply determine which is the higher seed as the Pacers and Defenders will meet in the CSAC semifinals anyway.
