Healy's Fast Start Drives Pacers to 17-6 Victory

Scranton, PA – Marywood University ended a three-game skid with a 17-6 victory over Keystone College Saturday in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's lacrosse action. The Pacers scored the game's first seven goals in the opening nine minutes of the game.
 
Erin Healy led all scorers with three goals and two assists for five points. Sam Bussinelli finished with three goals and an assist for four points. Kylie Winton joined them with a hat trick.
 
Natalie Burke provided two goals and two assists. Caitlin Watson tallied a goal and three assists.
 
Defensively, Lauren Smith made 10 saves in a winning effort. Michael DiLorenzo had three caused turnovers and five ground balls. Burke corralled four draw controls.
 
Keystone's Nina Hodanich led her team in all categories with three goals, five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
 
The Giants kept it a scoreless affair for nearly three minutes until Burke got the ball rolling with a free-position goal at the 27:10 mark. From there, the Pacers netted five goals in less than three minutes. Watson had back-to-back assists to Bussinelli and Healy within 20 seconds of each other. Healy's third goal in just over five minutes put the Pacers ahead 7-0 at the 21:14 mark.
 
Shatia Silas made the Giants first goal of the game with 18:47 left in the half. Marywood proceeded to go on a four-goal from to make it a 10-1 advantage. Amanda Khozouri scored her first of the season via Watson for a man-up point. A Rachelle Woodhouse goal left the Pacers with a 13-2 advantage going into halftime.
 
Despite the 11-goal differential, Marywood only outshot the Giants by a 24-20 margin. Keystone won the ground ball game 25-21. Marywood was proficient at the draw control by topping Keystone by a 17-7 margin.
 
Marywood (2-7, 2-2 CSAC) hosts Rosemont College Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
