Scranton, PA - The Marywood University women's lacrosse finished its Colonial States Athletic Conference regular season schedule with a 16-4 victory over Centenary College. The third-seeded Pacers will host No. 6 Gwynedd Mercy University Saturday, April 30 in the CSAC first round.

Sam Bussinelli led the Pacers with four goals and an assist for five points. Ashley Valway finished with three goals and an assist.

Lauren Smith made 11 saves to hold the Cyclones to four goals.

The Pacers honored seniors Jennifer Newins, Amanda Khozouri, Emily Osborne and Michelle Thompson prior to the game.

Defensively, Caitlin Watson finished with three draw controls, three ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. Thompson corralled a team-high four ground balls.

Abby Voelkner was responsible for most of the Cyclins scoring with three goals and an assist, in addition to four draw controls. Priscilla Ortiz had a goal, three caused turnovers and six ground balls.

Both Khozouri and Thompson finished with two goals and an assist for their senior game. Hailey Risi and Erin Healy each garnered two points.

Marywood bursted for five unanswered goals in the first nine minutes. Watson started the scoring with a netter less than three minutes into the game. Bussinelli doubled the score with an FPS goal at 25:31, followed by a Khozouri screamer 90 seconds later from a Bussinelli feed. Thompson fed Bussinelli a goal at the 21:49 mark.

Centenary's Voelkner and Devin Sutko worked together for a pair of goals less than four minutes apart to give the Cyclones their closest reach, a 6-2 deficit at the halfway point of the first half. A seven-goal Marywood run that extended into the first five minutes of the second half put the game away and started the running clock.

The Pacers held a 13-9 advantage in draw controls and a 29-24 edge in ground balls. Marywood outshot the Cyclones by a 40-17 margin. Centenary struggled in transition, successfully clearing 9 of 23 chances.
