Aston, PA - Forced to play in a single elimination tournament due to wet field conditions Saturday, Marywood's CSAC Championship softball run came to an end at the hands of Cabrini College in what was a CSAC semifinal matchup, 3-1.  Cabrini awaits the winner of the Neumann-Cedar Crest game in the 2:00 pm Championship game.

Marywood (22-14) now awaits a possible ECAC South Region Tournament bid, which will be announced late Monday afternoon after the NCAA tournament field is set.

The Pacers, seeded fourth, jumped out to a 1-0 lead over the No. 2 Cavaliers (24-15) in the top of the first when Stephanie Bagniewski doubled to score Brooke Labs, who had reached earlier on a fielder's choice.

Cabrini responded with two runs of their own in the first to take a 2-1 lead. Lindsay Savar picked up a two-out double to bring home both runs.

The Cavaliers went up 3-1 in the bottom of the third when Kaitlyn Cooper tripled to bring home a run.

Marywood threatened in their last at-bats, getting a pair of walks to open the inning and a Kathleen Rossi bunt to load the bases with no outs.  But a 9-2 double play ended the Pacers' comeback and a swinging strikeout ended the ballgame.

Rossi finished the game 2-for-4 while Hannah Docalovich went 2-for-2.  Bagniewski had Marywood's lone extra base hit and RBI.

Kirstie Alvarez struck out three in the loss, allowing all three runs on eight Cabrini hits.
