Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University took five matches by forfeit and won four others as the Pacers opened their 2016-17 season with a 9-0 win over Clarks Summit University Thursday afternoon in Scranton.

Abygail Doud won in both singles and doubles action, defeating Veronica Hernandez 6-0, 6-2 at #1 singles and teaming with Kristen Lambert for an 8-1 win in the top doubles flight. 

Danielle Ogonowski picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win at #2 singles and won at #2 doubles with partner Avery McCall by forfeit at #2 doubles.  McCall was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at #3 singles for the Pacers.

Marywood returns to the courts at Kirby Park the weekend of September 10 and 11 as it takes part in the King's College Invitational.  The invitational is a non-team scoring event.
