Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University blanked visiting Cedar Crest College 9-0 to open their 2016 CSAC slate Tuesday afternoon in Scranton. The Pacers move to 2-0 overall on the year while the Falcons slipped to 2-2 (1-1 CSAC).

The Pacers' duo of Abygail Doud and Kristen Lambert edged Taylor Doran and Jamie Wojciechowski of Cedar Crest 8-6 in the top doubles flight.  Marywood's other two teams of Avery McCall and Danielle Ogonowski (number two doubles) and Leah Dinsmore and Melanie Kobela (three doubles) easily defeated their opponents 8-1 and 8-0, respectively.  

In singles play, Doud won a tight first set over Wojciechowski 7-5 before cruising to a 6-1 win in set two.  Ogonowski won at two singles 6-1, 6-0.  McCall was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at three singles while Lambert defeated Alyssa Espara 6-1, 6-0 at four singles.

Rounding out the shutout win for the Pacers were Kobela (6-0, 6-1) at five singles and Nicole Sinclair (6-1, 6-2) at six singles.

Marywood is back in action Friday when they host Gwynedd Mercy in a key early season rematch of the 2015 league Championship match.  The match gets underway at 4:00 pm in Scranton.
