Scranton, Pa. - Visiting Wilkes University scored a goal in each half as the Colonels improved to 4-2 with a 2-0 win over host Marywood University Wednesday afternoon in Scranton.  Marywood fell to 3-2 with the loss.

Nineteen minutes into the action, Keighlyn Oliver retrieved a rebound off a Kerri Mountz save and passed to the left side from the baseline where she found Taylor Ryan for the eventual game-winner.

After a 30 minute rain delay two minutes into the second half, both teams battled evenly until the Colonels got an insurance goal from Oliver.  With Marywood pressing for the equalizer, Marissa Surdy found a charging Oliver from the baseline in the middle of the arc for the 2-0 Wilkes lead.

Wilkes had a 14-8 advantage in shots for the game including a 10-3 margin on goal.  The Colonels also had seven penalty corners to Marywood's three.

Mountz had six stops in goal for the Pacers while Tori Jo Kakusian added two defensive saves.  Dallas Kendra made three stops to preserve the shutout for Wilkes.

Marywood is back in action Sunday when they travel to Aurora, New York for a 12:00 pm match against Wells College.
