Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University notched its first volleyball victories of the season with three-set wins over Cedar Crest College and Pratt Institute of Technology Saturday in a tri-match.
Marywood defeated Cedar Crest by scores of 25-11, 25-7, 25-21. The Pacers gave the Cannoneers their first loss of the season by a 25-8, 25-16, 25-18 score.
In the win over the Falcons,
Gabby Santos broke the team attack percentage record of .857. She finished with 12 kills on 14 attempts.
Mikayla Attwood finished with five kills.
Danielle DeIulio provided the Pacers with 18 assists.
Jordan Vossler contributed with 12 digs, and
Shayna Finn supplied eight digs.
As a team, the Pacers shot for a season-best .300 attack percentage. Marywood finished with 10 service aces, led by DeIulio's three aces.
The Falcons were led by Molly Schnaubelt with four kills. Steph Barr had seven kills. Jacey Ludham recorded six digs.
Marywood only committed one error in the first set. Its 10 kills on 12 attempts provided them with a .750 attack percentage to the Falcons' minus-.250.
In the nightcap,
Peri Sheerin finished with a team-best 13 kills. She committed two errors on 22 shots for a .500 attack percentage. Santos continued her torrid afternoon with nine kills.
DeIulio provided the Pacers with 28 assists.
Jordan Vossler led the team with 13 digs.
Shannon Hupert had three service aces.
As a team, Marywood shot a .276 attack percentage. The Pacers were dominant in the first set with a .476 mark with just two errors.
Pratt's Marlena Todd had 17 digs and seven kills. Hannah Calderwood notched four blocks.
Marywood has a short turnaround and will travel to Reading, Pa. to compete against Penn State Berk and Albright College in a tri-match.
