Scranton, Pa. - Jackie VonItter recorded a hat trick and Shea Olszewski added two goals as Marywood University women's soccer gave Head Coach Andrew Smith his 100th career Conference win with a 8-1 rout of visiting Cairn University Tuesday evening in Scanton. It was also the Pacers' first win of 2016 (1-4-1, 1-0 CSAC).

Smith, the Conference's all-time wins leader, improved to 100-35-14 in league play and 157-124-25 overall in his 17 year career as the Marywood coach which spans the former Pennsylvania Athletic Conference and now Colonial States Athletic Conference.

After a third of the opening half went by without a score and Aly Moyer being forced to make a tip save to keep the score at 0-0, VonItter broke through for the Pacers in the 18th minute of play when she took a feed from Aly Barlok on the right flank and beat the Cairn keeper to her right from the edge of the six yard box.

Nearly five minutes later Ashley Kruchinsky took a beautiful feed from Elizabeth Carlson down the middle and put it home for a 2-0 lead.

Olszewski would then score back-to-back goals for the Pacers, the first from 18-yards out to the top left upper-90 and the second a breakaway goal. Kruchinsky assisted on Olszewski's first tally and fed Olszewski to start the breakaway on her second goal but was not credited with an assist there.

VonItter opened the second half scoring 10 minutes in when she one-timed a slot pass from Megan Swiecicki who broke free down the win after a nice combination play from the Marywood midfield.

Hannah Morrison would spoil Marywood's shutout attempt on a 35 yard direct kick that snuck in under the crossbar after beating Moyer high.

VonItter completed her hat trick in the 81st minute off a feed from Megan Swiecicki who rebounded a Julie Youngman shot that went off the crossbar and dropped it back to VonItter when under pressure.  VonItter chipped it home from the top of the 18 to make it 6-1 Marywood.

Swiecicki would then score when she grabbed another Youngman shot that went off the bar, but back to beat one defender and slotted it home less than a minute later.

Youngman would complete the scoring in the 88th minute, picking up her first goal of the year when she won the ball off two defenders in the box and blasted it home from close range.

Marywood held a commanding 38-7 advantage in shots including a 19-4 lead in shots on goal. Marywood also had six corners to Cairn's three.

Marywood is back on the pitch Saturday at 4:00 pm when they continue CSAC play by hosting Cedar Crest College at 4:00 pm.
