Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University won their third straight CSAC match and improved to 4-1 in league play with a 7-2 win over Immaculata University Saturday afternoon in women's tennis action.  The Pacers stand at 5-2 overall while the Mighty Macs fell to 5-4 (2-2 CSAC).  

Despite falling 8-4 at number one doubles, Marywood took home wins at two and three doubles for a 2-1 lead heading into singles action.  At three doubles, Melanie Kobela and Nicole Sinclair partnered for a 8-1 win while Avery McCall and Danielle Ogonowski won 8-4 at two doubles.

In singles play, Marywood won three close three set battles to earn the win.  At two singles, Ogonowski edged Kelly Gross 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) while at three singles MCall was a 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (9-7) winner over Anna Kambouroglos.  At four singles, Kristen Lambert rebounded after her one-doubles loss with partner Abygail Doud for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Susan Callahan.  

While Doud would fall at one-singles, Kobela and Sinclair closed out the win for the Pacers with wins at five (7-5, 6-2) and six (6-2, 6-4) singles, respectively.

Marywood is back in action next Friday, September 30 when they host Rosemont College at 3:30 pm.
