Mount Cobb, Pa. - Marywood University's women's golf team opened their second season of varsity competition in convincing fashion Friday afternoon, picking up a first-ever win over Misericordia University while setting a new program record for the lowest team round as the Pacers defeated the Cougars 388-414 at Scranton Municipal Golf Course in Mount Cobb.

Despite the Cougars having the two lowest individual rounds of the day, Marywood's top four performers combined for the lowest round in program history to pick up the win and move the team to 1-0 on the year in dual matches.

Tessa Briselden and Serena Woody each shot 95 for the Pacers on the par 72 course to finish tied for third.  Christiane Lowcher was a stroke behind her teammates with a 96 for a fourth place finish while Mariah Casey finished in fifth place and rounded out the Pacers' team scoring with a round of 102.

Michaela McQuaig of Misericordia took home medalist honors with a round of 89 while fellow Cougar Alexis Wyandt finished second with a 93.

Marywood is back on the links tomorrow at the Dutchmen Invitational, hosted by Lebanon Valley College at Lebanon Valley Country Club in Annville.
