La Plume, Pa. – Marywood University dealt Keystone College its first Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball blemish with a 66-46 victory Thursday on the road. After falling behind by five through the first quarter, the Pacers outscored the Giants 41-20 during the second and third quarters.

Gab Giordano continued to impress with 15 points and seven rebounds. Catie Nealon added 14 points on 11 shots with five boards.

Lisa Steakin corralled a team-best eight rebounds.

Marywood (7-6, 3-1 CSAC) shot 40 percent from the field. Keystone was held to a 30.2 field goal percentage. The Pacers had one of their most impressive rebounding performances of the season by outnumbering the Giants 46-30 off of the glass. That success provided Marywood with a 17-2 advantage in second-chance points.

Bryce Garrett and Daynara Elysee each managed 13 points for Keystone. Nina Hodanich tied Steakin with a game-best eight rebounds.

It is Marywood's second win over the Giants this season. On Nov. 20, the Pacers defeated Keystone 69-48 in a non-conference game at the Manhattanville 'Battle of the Castle' tournament.

Keystone seemed to have the Pacers figured out in the first five minutes of the game. It took 4 minutes, 47 seconds until Giordano gave the Pacers their first points of the game. Elysee knocked down a 3-pointer at the 4:51 mark to give the Giants a 7-2 lead.

After Kylie Devlin cut the disadvantage to one with a pair of free throws, Garrett and Hodanich capped off the first quarter with a pair of layups to end the stanza with a 13-8 lead.

An 11-point Marywood run in the beginning of the second quarter dashed the Giants' momentum. Nealon tied the contest at 15 apiece at the 6:53 mark, and Giordano hit a jump shot on the Pacers' next possession for a 17-15 lead. Alyssa Olson bookended the streak with a pair of layups for a 21-15 lead with five minutes left in the first half.

Trailing by five at the halftime break, Garrett made it a one possession game (27-25) with a long-range shot to start the third quarter. Unfortunately for the home team, Marywood had another scoring streak in store with a 13-point run to put the game out of reach. The Pacers' defense held Keystone to without a basket for the final 6:23 of the quarter.

Marywood will play its third game in five days Saturday when it returns home to take on Immaculata University at 1:00 pm.
