Women's Soccer Season Ends in ECAC Quarterfinal

Springfield, Mass. - Host and overall top seed Springfield College got four goals from Kim Quiles and the Pride impoved to 15-6-1 with a commanding 5-0 win over Marywood in the quarterfinal round of the 2017 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships.  Marywood closes their season with a 13-7 mark.

Quiles was dominate throughout. She gave the Pride a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute by sending a chipped shot to the far post from the right corner of the 18.

Marywood settled down after that play, and held the hosts in check for the remainder of the opening 45.  The Pacers best chance to tie came moments atter Quiles' opener when Julie Youngman beat a defender but her right footed shot sailed just wide of the goal.

Quiles came out strong in the second, doubling Springfield's lead in the 48th minute off a missed clearance opportunity from Marywood at the top of their own 18-yard box.  Quiles took the misplayed ball and calmly placed it in an empty net to put the Pride up 2-0.

Dakota Kelly got in on the scoring in the 53rd minute, one of two goals, the other from Quiles, that Springfield would score in less thana minute span.  Quiles then closed the scoring on the day with a tally in the 61st minute.

The Pride outshot Marywood 18-4 (10-3 on goal) and each team had one corner.  Aly Moyer (three saves), Bella DiToma (two saves) and Haley Taylor all saw action in the Pacers' net.

For the season, Julie Youngman moved to third in the single-season goals record book (21) and third in single season points (52).  She also finished the season just two points shy of 100 for her career and is four points behind Hall of Famer Rebecca Grubb for fourth on the all-time points list.

For the Pacers, seniors Dani Rill and Emily Kotcho played in their final contest.  The duo led Marywood to four CSAC playoff appearances and a 2016 CSAC Championship and NCAA tournament berth, as well as two ECAC postseason appearances.
