Immaculata, Pa. - A late second half run propelled Immaculata University to a 71-61 Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball win over Marywood University Saturday afternoon.  The Pacers (4-19, 4-12 CSAC) were led by Tip Swartz's team high 15.  The Mighty Macs improved to 12-11 (10-6) got a game high 25 from Mike Piekarski.

Dexter Shy had a game high 11 rebounds in the loss.  Jeremy Ringland added 13 points and Connor Shroyer had 10.

Tight throughout the first half and much of the second, Immaculata went on a key 11-1 run midway through the second half to pull away.  Up 46-45, the Mighty Macs outscored the Pacers over a three minute span.

Marywood eventually cut that lead to six with under a minute to play but the hosts iced the game on the free throw line.

Despite shooting 29% from the floor and 22% from three point range and the Pacers shooting higher percentages in both areas, the Mighty Macs nailed 25 of 32 free throws which proved the difference.  Marywood only attempted 20 freebies and connected on 11.

Marywood hosts Keystone Wednesday at 8:00 pm.
