Scranton, Pa. – Elizabethtown College broke open a one-goal game with nine consecutive scores to oust Marywood University 12-3 Saturday in the men's lacrosse season opener. The Pacers trailed 3-2 midway through the second quarter before the Blue Jays' run.

Matt Casto led all Pacers with two points on a goal and an assist. Bobby Sedlock gave the defense a hand with five ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Riley Litman won 11 out of 19 faceoff opportunities at a 57.8 percent clip.

Eric Morin scored his first career collegiate goal. Brant Junge also found the back of the net for the Pacers.

Sean Higgins and Austin Maylor each totaled an assist.

Nick Specht carried the Blue Jays with four goals and an assist for five points.

Elizabethtown started the game by holding the Pacers scoreless in the first quarter with goals from Mike and Nick Specht.

Trailing by three goals, Marywood totaled two straight in a 2:13 span. Morin took a Maylor pass to goal with 9:55 left. Casto redirected a Higgins relay with 7:41 remaining in the second quarter.

Vinny Biancardi made eight saves in 47 minutes, 55 seconds. Chris Favale relieved him with four stops and one goal allowed in 12:05.

Marywood had a slim 39-37 advantage in ground balls. Elizabethtown outshot the Pacers by a 37-15 mark.

The Pacers will host Wilkes University Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
