Langhorne, Pa. – Marywood University set a school record for longest women's basketball winning streak Saturday with its 10th consecutive victory. The Pacers downed Cairn University 73-35 on the road to hold on to first place in the Colonial States Athletic Conference standings.

The Pacers set the longest undefeated run in the program's 43-year history. It surpassed the previous mark of nine set in 2010-11 and 2015-16. Marywood has not been on the losing side of a box score since a 69-61 loss at Misericordia University on Dec. 30. The Pacers have an unblemished mark in the 2017 calendar year.

Just one game after setting a career high, Catie Nealon set a new all-time best with 20 points. All six of her made baskets were from beyond the 3-point arc on 10 shots from long range. She added five assists, three steals and five rebounds.

Three players – Gab Giordano, Kylie Devlin, Erika Thomas – each provided the team with 10 points apiece. Jordan Barth had 12 rebounds and eight points, in addition to four blocks.

The game between the Highlanders and Pacers for Saturday afternoon was cancelled Friday night, and rescheduled to Saturday evening due to technical problems in Langhorne, Pa.

Marywood shot 45.9 percent from the field. The Pacers held the Highlanders to 27.5 percent. Thanks to Nealon's hot hand, Marywood made 50 percent of its 3-point shots (8 of 16). The Pacers were also 90 percent from the charity stripe.

Having already ensured a spot in the CSAC playoffs for the ninth straight season, coach Tara Macciocco's squad remains atop the standings. Marywood leads Centenary, to whom it lost its only CSAC game, by one game, and holds a two-game edge over Neumann, Cabrini and Gwynedd Mercy.

The Pacers (15-6, 11-1 CSAC) continued with their welcoming trend of early runs. Tied at two apiece, Marywood went on a 13-point run over a five-minute span, highlighted by two treys from Nealon and one from Devlin.

Cairn hacked at the deficit to make it at two-possession game (15-9) on a Victoria Stum layup with 2:38 left in the first. Marywood capped the quarter on an inexplicable 12-1 run in the final 2:06. The Pacers' lead grew to 27-10 on a Giordano jump shot at the buzzer.

The closest the Highlanders came over the next three stanzas was 13 points.

All 20 of Nealon's points came in the first three quarters. She scored 19 against Clarks Summit four days earlier.

First place is on the line Wednesday when Marywood travels to Hackettstown, N.J. to seek redemption against Centenary at 6:00 pm. Marywood fell 66-63 to the Cyclones on Nov. 30, 2016 in the conference opener.
