NYU Ends Pacers' Season in ECAC First Round

Brooklyn, N.Y. – Marywood University's season came to a close with a 74-49 loss Wednesday at New York University in the ECAC Women's Basketball first round. The Pacers finish their season with an 18-9 mark.

Jordan Barth posted a team-best 16 points on 6 of 9 shooting. Catie Nealon totaled 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

The Violets were led by Lauren Brown with 23 points off the bench on a perfect 10-for-10 night from the field. Shaye McGoey and Amy Harioka posted 10 points.

NYU took the lead midway through the first quarter with 17 unanswered points. The Violets outscored the Pacers 21-7 in the first quarter and 26-8 in the third quarter.

The Violets will face Springfield in the quarterfinals held Friday in Pittsburgh.

Marywood shot just 35.4 percent to NYU's 42.9 percent. The Violets held on for a 39-36 advantage in rebounds. The Pacers committed 29 turnovers.
