Ferrum, Va. – Marywood University held Ferrum College to just one goal to end a two-game losing streak Wednesday in men's lacrosse. The Pacers posted a 10-1 victory over the Panthers in the first game of their Spring Break schedule.

Marywood (3-3) held Ferrum scoreless en route to a 8-0 lead at halftime.

The Pacers were led by Luke Shedler and Matt Mitarotonda with two goals and two assists. Both Shedler and Mitarotonda set career highs of four points.

Vinny Biancardi made 15 saves to secure his third win of the year.

Rob Maini provided two goals and an assist. Matt Casto totaled a goal and an assist.

Ryan Matthews totaled his first career goal for the Pacers.

Ferrum (3-5) received its lone goal from Tyler Fullem.

Marywood outshot Ferrum by a 32-23 margin. Ferrum won the ground ball game with a 27-18 advantage. Both teams were successful on extra-man opportunities.

The Pacers went ahead early when Mitarotonda scored at the 11:39 mark of the first quarter. Matthews followed through on a Shedler pass merely 64 seconds later.       
 
Ferrum did not score for the first time until 4:19 remaining in the first period. It is the Pacers' first one-goal defensive game since holding Rosemont to one last year.

Marywood travels north to face The Catholic University of America Friday in the nation's capital.
