Marywood Falls to Bethany, Saint Mary's to Close Spring Break

Clermont, Fla. - Marywood University returns North after their spring break trip with an 0-7 overall mark after the Pacers fell to Bethany College (W.V.) 10-1 and to Saint Mary's College (Indiana) 11-0, both in five innings, Friday.  

In the opener against the Bison, Bethany scored four in the first inning and batted through the lineup in a six-run second inning to earn the victory.

Sara Hayes was 2-for-2 for Marywood with a run scored while Kaitlyn Epler had Marywood's lone RBI.  Kirstie Alarez suffered the loss on the mound. 

Against St. Mary's, the Big Blue plated 10 runs over the opening three innings, including a five-run third, to put the game away early.  Malory Porada picked up the lone hit of the game for Marywood, breaking up a no-hit attempt by the opponent for the second time this season.  Porada also singled against Stockton on March 14 to break up the Osprey's bid for a no-hitter.
