Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University was unable to get on the winning side against its cross-town rival The University of Scranton in an 11-5 loss Thursday in men's lacrosse. The Royals kept the Pacers scoreless for the entirety of the first half.

The Royals ended eight minutes of scoreless action with Kirkwood's first from William Joyce at the 6:59 mark. Less than two minutes later, Sheridan took a Carfaro feed into goal for the last of the first quarter's production.

Casto ended the Pacers' drought in the third quarter. He golfed a ground ball into the net off of a save for Marywood's first damage at the 12:13 mark. Scranton responded with three goals in a three-minute span to extend the lead to 8-1.

After trailing by nine, Marywood tacked on the final three goals of the game in the remaining 6:52 against the Scranton reserves.

Oddly enough, it was the third game for the Pacers in which the losing side allowed the first five goals of the contest.
