Clarks Summit, Pa. - Marywood University's men's tennis team picked up their second straight CSAC win as the Pacers defeated visiting Rosemont College 7-2 Friday afternoon at Birchwood Tennis Club in Clarks Summit. The win moves Marywood to 2-5 overall and 2-2 in the league while the Ravens remain winless at 0-5 (0-2).

Due to the match being moved indoors at noon, Marywood had to default number three doubles, giving the Ravens a 1-0 lead before the match started.  The Pacers rebounded quickly though as Ahmed Al-Oreif and Bryon Scholl blanked Luis Castillo and James Finney 8-0 in the top doubles flight to even the match at 1-1.  

The Pacers then took a 2-1 lead heading into singles play after Brendan O'Rourke and partner John Shebby won their number-two doubles match, 8-4.

Both Scholl (two singles) and Shebby (five singles) cruised to 6-0, 6-0 wins to put the Pacers up 4-1, and Al-Oreif won 6-0, 6-1 at one singles to make it 5-1.  Ulises Munoz-Santos was a 6-1, 6-0 victor at six-singles to give Marywood a 6-1 lead in the match.

The two tightest matches of the day came at two and four singles, with O'Rourke coming out victorious 6-2, 3-6, 10-6 at four singles for Marywood while Rosemont's Castillo got the Raven's second point of the match with a 2-6, 6-1, 11-9 win over Steven Price at two-singles. .

Marywood returns to the courts April 7 in search of their third straight win as they travel to Gwynedd Valley to take on the defending Conference Champion Gwynedd Mercy at 3:30 pm.
