Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – Marywood University's offense went silent for more than 38 minutes in an 8-4 loss to Gwynedd Mercy University in its first Colonial States Athletic Conference blemish of the season. The Pacers allowed seven unanswered Griffins goals throughout the second and third periods.

The Griffins broke open a 1-1 game after the first quarter. Gwynedd Mercy scored four in the second and three in the third periods to extend its lead to 8-1. Marywood scored each of the three goals in the final stanza.

Luke Shedler and Rob Maini were the lone Pacers with multi-point afternoons with a goal and an assist apiece.

Riley Litman went 6 of 12 from the faceoff x with five ground balls. Ryan Matthews continued his solid defensive stretch with four ground balls.

Marywood outshot the Griffins by a 37-30 margin. The Pacers piled it on in the fourth with a 19-3 shot advantage. Gwynedd Mercy edged the Pacers 25-23 in ground balls. Neither team converted on a combined nine extra-man opportunities.

Vinny Biancardi totaled eight saves in over 38 minutes in goal.

Marywood clashes with Susquehanna University Tuesday at 4:00 pm in a game televised on WQMY (MYTV) in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area.
