Scranton, Pa. – Natalie Burke broke the Marywood University career assists record in a 14-2 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland Saturday in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's lacrosse. Burke tallied three assists for the 58th of her career to pass Kathy DiGiacomo '15.

Burke tallied a game-high five points with two goals. Her three ground balls moved her into a tie with Carrie Glenn '10 for third all-time. Burke also reached the career century mark for caused turnovers with a pair, moving her into fifth in CSAC history.

Marywood held Notre Dame to just two goals, holding opponents to a mere one goals-against for the week. Lauren Smith made seven saves.

Burke, Smith and Katie Henry were honored before the game at the team's Senior Day presentation.

Ashley Valway led all scorers with three goals. With an assist to her credit, Valway stands two points shy of becoming the ninth member of the 100 Point Club.

Gwyneth Gleason garnered two goals, an assist and four ground balls. Sam Bussinelli provided a pair of goals.

Zoe Simeone scored her first career goal as part of a two-point effort.

Notre Dame received a pair of goals and four draw controls from Megan Morales. Deja Martin kept away 13 Pacer shots.

Marywood (6-4, 3-1 CSAC) scored the game's first nine goals. Bussinelli tacked on the first one 1:52 into regulation. Valway found the net 27 seconds later. Fifty seconds later, Bussinelli added her second and final goal of the game for a 3-0 lead.

Morales ended the Pacers' unanswered run of nine goals with 12:34 left in the half. Burke broke the assists record on a dish to Kristie Roth that ignited the running clock with 5:53 before the break.

Marywood's midfield mastered the transition game by holding the Gators to a 9-for-16 clear success rate. The Pacers cleared 16 of 18 attempts. Marywood outshot Notre Dame 33-12 and held onto a 23-15 advantage in ground balls.

The Gators held a 10-8 edge in draw controls.

Marywood stays home to host Cedar Crest College Wednesday.
