Marywood Continues Hot Streak, Sweeps Clarks Summit

Clarks Summit, Pa. - Brooke Labs went 5-for-7 with six RBI as Marywood University's softball team continued their hot streak with 11-1 and 9-0 wins over host Clarks Summit University, both in five innings. The Pacers improved to 8-2 in the league and 8-13 overall with the wins.

In the opener, Katie Siano struck out two and allowed just two hits to improve to 3-3 on the year.  Labs was 3-for-3 with four RBI and three runs scored while Kaitlyn Epler was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and three runs scored.  Alexa Scala was also 3-for-4 while Kirstie Alvarez had two RBI.

Kelsey Killeen, Mackie Goodwin and Lauryn Butler all had two hits in the win.  Marywood plated all 11 of their runs over the opening three innings of play.

Labs, Scala and Alvarez all had two hits in the 9-0 nightcap win.  Scala, Alvarez and Sam Reid all doubled while Epler tripled for the Pacers.

Alvarez (4-5) picked up the shutout win, striking out seven while allowing just four hits in the complete-game effort.  

Marywood returns to action Thursday with a twinbill at Centenary College.
