Dallas, Pa. - Marywood University's women's tennis team improved to 14-4 on the year after the Pacers defeated Misericordia University 5-4 Monday afternoon in Dallas.  Originally scheduled over two weeks ago, the match was finally completed after several postponements due to weather.

Marywood took two of three doubles matches over the Cougars (3-4).  Abygail Doud and Danielle Ogonowski were 8-2 winners in the top doubles flight while Nicole Sinclair and Emily Zarrilla cruised to a 8-1 win at #3 doubles.  Avery McCall and Melanie Kobela dropped a tight match (8-2) at two-doubles.

In singles play, Misericordia took the top singles match (6-1, 6-2) and won 6-4, 6-1 at two-singles, but the Pacers rallied for three straight wins to claim the match. Marywood won at three (McCall, 6-3, 6-2), four (Kobela 7-5, 6-2) and five singles (Sinclair, 6-0, 6-2) to get the decisive five points for the win.

Marywood closes their 2016-17 campaign tomorrow with a match at The University of Scranton.  That match will get underway at 4:00 pm.
