Edwardsville, Pa. - Marywood University fell to Wilkes University in both ends of a non-conference softball doubleheader Wednesday evening at Kirby Park.  The Pacers dropped the opener 7-4 before falling to the Colonels 7-2 in the nightcap. Marywood now stands at 4-13 on the year.

A pair of doubles from Brooke Labs and Alexa Scala got the Pacers on top 2-0 in their first at-bat, with Scala's two-bagger bringing in two runs.  Wilkes answered with a run in the bottom of the first, and the hosts took a 5-2 lead after a four-run second inning.

Wilkes added another run in the fourth before Marywood closed the gap in with a two-run fifth, highlighted by an RBI single from Kaitlyn Epler and a RBI double from Labs, but Wilkes added another run in the sixth and shut down the Pacers the rest of the way for the 7-4 win.

Labs, Scala and Kirstie Alvarez each had two hits for Marywood in the opener.  Amanda Bridgwood suffered the loss after allowing five earned runs over six innings of work.

In game two, all scoring occurred within the first four innings as Wilkes used a three-run second and two-run fourth to score seven runs over the opening four innings and claim a 7-2 win.

Labs again had two hits, including a double, and Hannah Docalovich added two hits in three at-bats for the Pacers.  Katie Siano suffered the loss for Marywood despite allowing just two earned runs.  Marywood was tagged for a season high eight errors in the nighcap.

Marywood travels to nearby Clarks Summit University Friday for a CSAC twinbill with the opening game slated for a 3:00 pm start.
