Scranton, Pa. – Marywood University rebounded from a six-goal deficit in the final seven minutes in a 13-12 double overtime victory over Immaculata University Saturday in a decisive Colonial States Athletic Conference men's lacrosse tilt. Rob Maini scored the game-winning goal with 1:49 remaining in the second extra period.

Marywood trailed by seven (11-4) after the opening five minutes of the fourth period. The Pacers outscored Immaculata, 9-1, the rest of the way.

Trailing 12-6 with just under seven minutes left, Marywood found its momentum late to tally the game's final seven goals. Zach Vaughan, Austin Maylor and Rob Maini each had two goals in the Pacers' late run.

Marywood scored four times in the final two minutes to extend the game into overtime.

Casto led the Pacers with four goals and two assists. Maini provided four goals and an assist.

Post shots and back-and-forth possessions gave the overtime periods extra flair. In the second, the Pacers retained the ball via Litman's faceoff win, and Immaculata quickly took the ball. Robbie Pickeral forced Brian Shultis into a turnover with 2:29 left. Luke Shedler delivered a pass to the top of the key that allowed Maini to stray to his right and send a low shot that skated into the cage.

Casto scored twice within a minute of each other, with the former against a man-up situation against the reserve goalkeeper and the latter putting the Pacers within six with 8:13 remaining. Immaculata's Doug Hughes gave his team some relief with a goal at the 6:58 mark.

Merely 20 seconds later, Vaughan chimed in with his first of the game. Just a minute later, Vaughan scored again to trim the deficit down to five.

A costly Immaculata penalty rejuvenated the Pacers' bench, and Marywood responded with four goals in the final two minutes. Justin Einwechter notched his first career assist when he took a ground ball and sent it upfield to Casto for fast break goal with 1:58. Seventeen seconds later, Maylor redirected a Maini pass for goal to make it a 12-10 game.

Immaculata won the faceoff chance but Nick Mazzone caused a turnover that enabled the Pacers to retain possession. Maylor took a Matt Mitarotonda pass to the cage to put Marywood within arm's reach of the Mighty Macs with 47 seconds to go.

Kyle Butera won the ground ball on Riley Litman's faceoff, and Maini tabbed the equalizer from Maylor with 28 seconds left. All three of Maylor's points (2g-1a) came within the final two minutes of regulation.

Butera sparked the Pacers defensively with seven ground balls. Riley Litman won 19 of 27 faceoff chances with five ground balls. Robbie Pickeral caused three turnovers.

Chris Favale earned the win in a relief effort in goal with six saves and six goals-allowed. Vinny Biancardi also saved six.

The Mighty Macs' Mike Reardon was nearly unstoppable with seven goals and two assists for nine points. Hughes totaled two goals, two assists and 15 ground balls. Tyler Black tallied three assists.

Marywood (5-8, 2-1 CSAC) outshot the Mighty Macs by a 44-33 clip that was largely attributed to a 19-5 advantage in the fourth. The Pacers won the ground balls by a 40-36 margin. Immaculata (3-7, 2-1 CSAC) went four of eight on man-up chances.

The Pacers keep their playoff hopes in mind Wednesday when they host Rosemont College at 4:00 pm.
