Men's Tennis Competes at King's Invitational

Invitational Results

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – Marywood's men's tennis team were back in action this past weekend in the King's College Men's Invitational. There was no team scoring at this event but the Pacers saw a lot of action in this two day event.

Captain Bryon Scholl reached the semifinals in flight 3 of singles competition. Scholl won the final two sets of the match with an exciting final set after losing the first against DeSales Unviersiy's Ben Greb (4-6, 6-0, 10-7). Scholl fell to Tyler Spinello (6-2, 6-1) from Elizabethtown College in the semifinals.

John Shebby also made it to the semifinals defeating Elizabethtown's Michael Ryzuk (6-1, 6-2) in flight 6. Shebby lost in the semifinals to Brian Hayhurst from DeSales (6-3, 6-1).

Marywood's Ulises Munoz-Santos also advanced to the semifinals of flight 8 with a bye. Munoz-Santos lost to Desale's John Karaban (6-0, 6-0).

In doubles competition Marywood's pair of Bryon Scholl and Cole Strange advanced to the semifinals with a bye in flight 2. Then in the semifinals they fell to Elizabeth's team of Ryan Caris and Tristan Boheim (8-1).

The Pacers will be home this Thursday September 21st against University of Scranton at 4pm.
