Sheerin Nears Career Record in Loss to LBC

Lancaster, Pa. – Marywood University fell short in three tight matches to Lancaster Bible College Tuesday in non-conference volleyball action. The Pacers fall to 14-10 on the season, while the Chargers improve to 19-7.

Lancaster Bible came out the victors by scores of 25-23, 25-20, 25-19.

Peri Sheerin sits four kills shy of setting a school record. Sheerin recorded 11 kills with a .360 attack percentage. She nears Emily Fillman's program benchmark of 837 that was set from 2008-11.

Gabriella Santos and Jordan Vossler reach contributed with 10 digs apiece. Sara Burgos had 20 assists. Sam Compton provided three aces.

The Chargers' Courtney Goyak and Ashtyn Bouslog each manufactured 10 kills. Allison Shuey helped with 27 assists.

Marywood came back from a 19-14 deficit to come within one (21-20) on a Nicole Cashman ace. Ashley King evened the score at 23-23 with a kill. Following a timeout, Lancaster Bible won the first set on Goyak and Bouslog kills.

In the third, Santos moved the Pacers within one (20-19) with a kill. LBC closed out the match with five straight points, including two on Aleah Heyworth aces.

Marywood heads to Delaware for a key Atlantic East Conference showdown between two teams that will face each other in the first round. The winner of the Friday's match against Wesley College will earn the No. 4 seed and a home playoff match.
