Field Hockey Falls in ECAC First Round

Galloway, N.J. - Making their second ever appearance in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) post-season field hockey tournament, #4 Marywood fell to #1 Stockton University 1-0. The Pacers close their season at 12-8 while the Ospreys (13-7) advance to the Pod A final to play #2 Juniata, a 2-0 winner over Widener.

Stockton's lone, and winning goal, came from Victoria Caiazzo in the game's fourth minute (3:47) of action. Caiazzo finished a blocked shot from Jennelle Long, who was credited with the assist.  

Shots from Kenzie Drew in the 62nd and 66th minute in an attempt to tie the game were blocked.  

Kerri Mountz had six saves on the seven shots she faced. Her counterpart Emily Gilligan stopped all three shots she faced for the shutout win.

Stockton outshot Marywood 16-6 for the game, placing seven shots on goal to Marywood's three.  Jaida Marks placed both of her shots on goal while Drew (four shots) had one on frame.  Stockton had a 13-5 lead in penalty corners.

Seniors Michaela Schmidt and Sam Dunn played in their final game for the Pacers.
