Women's Tennis Picks Up its Second in a Row Against Cabrini

Scranton, Pa - The Marywood University women's tennis team won its second match in a row with an 8-1 win over Cabrini University in Colonial State Athletic Conference competition. The Pacers (2-2, 2-0 CSAC) swept the Cavaliers in singles competition. Cabrini scored its lone point in the first set of doubles. 

Marywood's Emily Edwards did not give up a point in her sixth singles match against Miranda Smith (6-0, 6-0). Her teammate Emily Zarrilli only gave up one point in her two sets against Cabrini's Sydney Lynch (6-1, 6-0). Danielle Ogonowski and Abygail Doud each prevailed in the third set after dropping the first in the No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively. Ogonowski went on to a 1-6, 7-5 (6) win. Doud had a 4-6, 6-4 (6) victory. 

The team of Brooke Panek and Nicole Sinclair were triumphant (8-0) in their third doubles set against Miranda Smith and Julia Lamarra. In the second set of doubles competition, the Pacers' Devin Zombek and Emily Zarrilli won their set 8-4.

The Pacers will be traveling to Clark Summit University next Wednesday in their third CSAC match of the year.
