Men's Tennis Drops CSAC Match Against Clarks Summit

Clarks Summit, Pa. - The Marywood University men's tennis team suffered a tough loss Wednesday against Clarks Summit University by a 9-0 score. The Defenders held the Pacers without a match win in the Colonial States Athletic Conference match. Clark Summit improved to 8-1 overall (6-1 CSAC), while Marywood falls to 0-8 (0-4 CSAC).

Jason Muller, of Clark Summit, faced Marywood's Bryon Scholl in the first set of singles. Scholl fought hard in his two sets against Muller, only losing the first set by two games (6-4, 6-2). John Shebby started strong against Clark Summit's Noah Macey after taking the first set 7-6 (4). Shebby and Macey faced another tiebreaker in the second set, where Macey took the set (7-6, 7-3) and won the round in the third set 10-2. 

In doubles, the team of Macey and Nathan Hubbard went up against a tough Pacers team of Dev Patel and Scholl. Macey and Hubbard beat Patel and Macey in a close 9-7 matchup. Evan Griffin and Yancy Butler overcame Marywood's John Shebby and Brendan O'Rourke 8-3 in the second set of doubles.

The Pacers look to bounce back against Neumann University on Friday in another CSAC matchup.
