Field Hockey Routs Oswego for 4th Straight Win

Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University got two goals apiece from Jenna Dickey and Gwyneth Gleason and the Pacers handed Oswego State their first loss of 2018 with a 7-1 rout of the Lakers in non-conference field hockey action Friday evening.

Marywood won their fourth straight game to move to 4-1 on the year while Oswego State dropped to 3-1.

After over 15 minutes of scoreless action, Dickey took a feed from Jaida Marks to tally the first goal of the contest at the 15:53 mark.  Just over a minute later, Gleason scored off a helper from Dickey to double the Pacers lead.

Two minutes later, Oswego State cut the host's lead in half as Katie Reynolds scored unassisted.

But from there it was all Marywood, as the Pacers scored just 17 seconds later (19:20) on an unassisted goal from Lindsey Quinn to get back their two-goal cushion.  Marywood would take that 3-1 lead into the break after out-shooting the Lakers 8-5 in the opening half.

The second half was all Marywood, as the Pacers had a 16-1 advantage in shots and scored four more goals, all of which were unassisted.  Dickey scored unassisted seven minutes into the half and Sara Sterchak would score in the 50th minute as Marywood built a 5-1 lead.

Gleason netted her second goal of the game in the 52nd and Kenzie Drew closed out the scoring with a goal in the 67th minute of play.

Kerri Mountz made three saves in 62:51 of action to get the win in goal for Marywood while Carlie Antes plaed the final 7:09.  Joanna Christman made 12 stops for the Lakers in the loss.

Marywood travels across town to take on The University of Scranton Tuesday at 4:00  pm.
