Women's Tennis Falls to Lycoming in its Home Opener

Scranton, Pa. – The Marywood University women's tennis team fell to Lycoming College Thursday in its home opener in a close 5-4 match. 

Deena Haroun Mahdavi came out on top of Lycoming's Parroccini (6-4, 6-4) at the No. 3 singles. Devin Zombek had a decisive victory over Allyson Dugan 6-1, 6-3 in the fourth singles spot.
 
Lycoming's Hannah Summerson got the Warriors started with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Danielle Ogonowski in the first set of singles. Brittany Lenze defeated Marywood's Gina Babcock 6-0, 6-4 in the No. 2 singles slot.
 
In doubles competition, Summerson and Lenze teamed upto beat Babcock and Ogonowski in a close 9-8 match-up. Dugan and Parroccini downed the duo of Mahdavi and Zombek.
 
Samantha Labrosky won the sixth singles set by default. Brooke Panek and Nicole Sinclair also won the third doubles set by default.

Marywood will be back in on Sept. 17 when it travels to the University of Scranton at 4 pm.
