Women's Basketball Opens Carleton Era at Elizabethtown

Aryah Aungst posts double-double in opener

Elizabethtown, Pa. - Marywood University opened the 2019-20 season with a 69-57 loss to Elizabethtown College Saturday in women's basketball. The Pacers were unable to overcome a 10-point halftime deficit. 

Aryah Aungst scored a career-high 26 points as part of a double-double effort. Aungst went 9 of 18 from the field and made 6 of 7 free throws. She added 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. 

Olivia Kosin scored 10 points in her career debut. Jade Rolon finished with four assists and six rebounds. 

Marywood shot 35.2 percent from the field. The Pacers made 75.8 percent at the charity stripe. 

Elizabethtown had four players reach double figures in scoring. Angie Hawkins led the Blue Jays with 22 points. Marissa Emlet had 13 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Veronica Christ and Mikayla Ruth reach totaled 11 points. 

Marywood travels to Franklin & Marshall College on Wednesday.
